DESCRIPTION

Hi, whammy here. It's been 10 days after TCU has launched. What can I say? The reception has been quite overwhelming. We're extremely grateful for all the support we've received, it really means a lot to us. The amount of people who were eagerly awaiting the return of this decade old game really says a lot about how much this game means to people. To be frank, we have been struggling with paying attention to what's going on outside of the TCU discord, it's just been tech support and bug fixing all the way. We know there have been a multitude of gaming news articles written on TCU and the return of The Crew, and lots of YouTube videos being made. We're glad to see so many people enjoying the game and experimenting with it. Speaking of experiments...MODDINGThe amount of modding that's been going on in the last 10 days alone is quite incredible, and it brings me joy to see. I always said that, the way I see it - modding is the future of this game. Not just because of the potential (which is very very large with The Crew), but also because it has been left in an abysmal state by the last update in 2017 before it was abandoned completely, and currently this is the only version of the game that players can experience. This is why the TCU Mod is in the works. It's a collection of essential & lore-friendly fixes, improvements and content restorations, done by the community, with the goal of bringing the game back to a level of greatness it once had, while retaining all the new DLC content and features. Those of you who are aware of the "The Crew Wild Run" update and what it did, know just how much the game was broken and destroyed. Now that everyone has access to The Crew once again, we have already joined forces with other community members on making the mod a reality.A little preview of the mod (yes, this is the latest version of the game):

WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE TCU PROJECT?We still have some important fixes to roll out for both the launcher and the server, which is what we're currently focusing on. The launcher will also get a GUI rework, as WinForms are just way too outdated. Once that's dealt with, we will start working on TCU Online and TCU Net 2.0. What's TCU Net 2.0? Great question! It will be the future iteration of our current website, but will also be an online system integrated with the TCU Online experience - user profiles, scores, friends, posts, rewards, etc. Don't wanna over-promise too early on, but this is the plan. This requires some hefty server hardware and storage, which is why every financial contribution is greatly appreciated! We will also be actively looking into options for PS4 support, but again, no promises yet. Same goes for the much-needed Pre-WR version support.THANK YOUAs you can see, we have quite ambitious goals. But with enough time and your support, we believe we can achieve them. We will be posting about all the aforementioned efforts and their progress here. I will also be posting some additional informative/educational posts about the game, how it's designed and maybe even how it works here.
