Happy birthday, The Crew! [11th Anniversary & Project Update]

DESCRIPTION

Hi everyone, whammy4 here!Today is the 11th birthday of The Crew. Last year I made a symbolic little gift in form of covers/reinterpretations of my 3 favorite musical pieces from the game, you can check it out here! Sadly this year I got... nothing. Sorry! Lots of stuff happening now that's taking up a lot of our time (especially due to the fact that TCU is actually out now). But hey, at least by it's 11th birthday the game is playable again!I would like to give you all a general project direction update, and put you up to speed with what's going on and what's planned for the near and far future of the TCU Project.UPDATES & PATREONFirst, the current pace of project updates and TCU Patreon posts is much slower than intended (due to the current busyness mentioned above) - I meant to write Part 2 of "The Story of Road 66" right after the TCU Halloween Challenge ended back in November, then a sort-of formal in-depth TCU Mod announcement post. I'm still going to do that.TCU MODSecond, speaking of TCU Mod - the last time I posted an update on it was a very, very long time ago. I've made a lot of progress since then, including fixes for some of the worst, most notorious graphical issues in the game (caused by Wild Run, of course), which I'm very excited to post about! As you may guess, work on the TCU Mod is now being done a lot more actively than before.

Now that everyone got their hands back on the game, I see more than ever how important TCU Mod is, as the game was left in such a broken and buggy state, it's honestly abysmal to see. After the aforementioned "formal announcement" post for TCU Mod, I'll stop drip-feeding you little screenshots here and there, and start showcasing many more screenshots, video demos and features of the mod. I got a lot of stuff that I want to show you.

TCU ONLINECurrently there are no particular updates on TCU Online. Just know that every bug we fix and every feature we implement into the offline mode is also applicable to the online server development. We want to tackle as many bugs and issues as possible in the offline mode first before we move onto active development of TCU Online.TCU LAUNCHERAs stated in the #tcu-project-status channel on our Discord, the TCU Launcher is pending a complete GUI (user interface) rework. WinForms is really not cutting it these days...CONCLUSIONSo in short - Patreon posts will carry on as normal soon, TCU Mod is going to start getting the spotlight actively with progress updates and demo footage, and progress made for offline mode & TCU Mod is also progress made for TCU Online.Thank you, happy birthday to The Crew, and have a good day. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask us anytime in the TCU Patreon chat, or on the TCU Discord!
