Hey, everyone. This is Skrubchap, your local amateur author who often experiences acid reflux due to the amount of coffee he's consuming. This isn't a chapter post, but in the past several days I've actually been thinking about something and would like to bring it up, which is why I'll be doing my very mythical patreon poll.
LTOMS has actually been steadily increasing in word count every chapter. It's a natural consequence of the story reaching the endgame in the Abydos Arc, but it's getting to the point where I have to sacrifice substance to reach my self-imposed deadlines. Originally, I thought two chapters of it a week was something I can do was because it normally has a low word count, but with it reaching ~7K per chapter now like Abusing Tropes, it's not really sustainable at this point.
Like right now. I probably have less than twenty four hours to write the next chapter for LTOMS. I could probably brute force it, but it's going to be subpar.
I'm worried that I'll be delivering lesser quality chapters and ruin what is probably the most important part of the story because of it. And what's more, it actually contributed in many of the previous delays in Abusing Tropes, so I'm also worried that my self-imposed deadline on that story would be affected as well.
That said, limiting the LTOMS chapter once a week makes me feel like I still have enough time to write something else. So I was thinking that maybe I could write another story here as well. It'll probably have a short word count per chapter though.
Honestly I was thinking on deciding on it on my own since the pros outweigh the cons, but since you guys are pretty much my customers - the choice is yours whether things stay the same or not.
So for the TLDR, these are the two choices and its implications.
Change things up
LTOMS chapter schedule becomes once a week so that every chapter has better substance (every wednesday, maybe).
New story (word count of 3-4K words each chapter, will hold another poll for this one after I gather all my ideas.)
Things stay the same
LTOMS chapter schedule remains the same. Content might be cut or divided between chapters to reach deadlines.
It might affect Abusing Tropes as well, cutting my writing time each chapter.
