Vox’s lead video producer, Dolly Li, bought a bunch of bananas for an explainer about why this beloved fruit might be doomed. One of the core issues threatening bananas is that monocropping has led to there being only one banana available in most Western supermarkets: the Cavendish. So Dolly went to a few Asian supermarkets in California to scour for more banana varietals to taste test and film with. Let’s see if Dolly and fellow video producer Benjamin Stephen can correctly identify the standard “Cavendish” banana in this blind taste test, a behind-the-scenes experiment exclusive for Patreon members.
