hey all! as per the the poll, im working on some closeup-style shots that feature just parts of characters, or have heavy foreshortening in them. in february i will be switching to a much more study-oriented set of sketches that will focus on even closer-up features to try and get a really rich understanding of the subtleties and nuances of how to make things feel more lively and appealing (plus i just really need to dial in and improve ^v^')
this is a pretty structureless rough-in of the sketches, with some semi refined lines and vague dulled flats underneath. im going to be painting overtop the whole thing, which is usually how i speedpaint and pretty far removed from the super structured process of the advent calendar pieces (artists, let me know if you want to see some PSD's of a few of them). This year i really want to be able to sharpen up my painting skills and round out some of my recurring design errors, so stay tuned and if i figure out anything more valuable than "just vibe paint lmao" ill see if i can put together some tutorials or educational pieces :>
