hey all, hope your april is going well. got some stuff cooking, including a few studies and a bigger project featuring some of the patrons' rabbit sonas! for the studies im intentionally using some harder to control brushes to really try and develop some style, as i want my sketch and linework to stand on their own with as much confidence as the paintings i make. for the "painting" of the rabbits, i may try to blend a painting and inking aesthetic and see where that goes. this is also one of the few pieces where im starting directly on top of a 3D model render! i put up several wips to show the model, the sketch overtop of it, and the lay in of colors, values, and structural refinements/changes that are more appealing than the source poses. i still use 3D at a quite limited capacity, and generally dont like the look of compositing/photobashing in paintings, but its also something i would like to -have- in my toolkit, as an option. hoping to get more stuff everyone's way soon!
