DESCRIPTION

Hey all! Update 7.1.7 was pushed out a few moments ago. If you haven't gotten it yet, the following changes are headed your way! Obviously, please let me know if you have any issues with the update or just have feedback in general!

New Settings

You'll notice a new tab in the Settings window labeled "Extractors" . Here you can add/change any Extractor Arguments without having to manually add them via Custom Arguments in the Advanced Settings tab. Just hit the Plus button and enter the value for the custom argument you would like to add!

You'll notice this component UX in a few more places in the Settings window. For example, in the Post Processing tab, you'll find a new "Post Processor Arguments" setting about midway down the tab. Similar to Extractor Arguments, this setting will allow you to add custom Post Processor Arguments. Just click the Plus button in the lower right corner and enter the value for a Post Processor Argument! You can add as many as you need. Once added, you can use the Pencil icon to edit existing arguments or the X icon to delete them.

Additionally you'll find a Custom Headers option in the Work Arounds tab, near the bottom, that will allow you to add custom headers without having to add them manually to Custom Arguments.

Custom Arguments

Speaking of Custom Arguments, this UX component has been (historically) a pain point for many users. Adding and managing the "chips" was a bit confusing. This update brings an updated version of this component. Instead of typing directly into the input field, there is a Plus icon on the right side.

When you click it, you'll be given a popover input box where you can enter the argument key/value pair (or just key if no value is needed). Once added, the arguments will appear in the correct chip format in the input box! Like previous versions of Stacher, just click the X on the chip to remove the custom argument

Library Queue

You'll also find in 7.1.7 an updated Queue in the Library Media Player. Each item in the Queue will now have a more detailed box and the Now Playing item will be highlighted with your theme color. The queue will also automatically scroll to the currently active item in the media player.

Manage Devices

Don't forget that with Stacher Premium, you can use your License key on up to 3 devices. That means you can add it on multiple computers that you have OR you can give your key to a friend - that's totally fine! But, what happens once you've used your key on all 3 devices and you want to swap out one of your previous devices for a new one? This update has a new option that allows you to manage your licensed devices! Click the Heart icon in the upper corner of Stacher, where you originally put your license key, and you'll see a new option to Manage License Key/Devices

When you click this option, you'll be navigated to the Stacher License Key Management Portal where you can see and remove existing devices. When you are navigated to this portal, you'll be asked to login via Patreon so that your License key can be fetched from your subscription tier.

The information for each device is somewhat limited, you'll see the Operating System the key is on and the number of times the key has been used on that device. So, you may have to use some deductive reasoning to figure out which device is which. In a future update, I'd like to add the ability to "name" your devices which might make the process easier.

Everything Else

Added "Reconciliation" option for subscriptions

The default "no thumbnail available" icon has been updated

A warning message has been added to the cookie settings

Scrollbars throughout the app have been resized/made smaller

The annotation settings were removed because they are no longer valid

The media player in the library will now have consistent state as the queue plays

New audio player shaders/visualizations

And a couple more fixes/changes that you can find, as always, in the change log: https://changelog.stacher.io
