A LIMINAL HORROR PATREON!?!?!

A LIMINAL HORROR PATREON!?!?!
DESCRIPTION

Hello LH community! This is Goblin Archives writing to you probably from the past, but that's okay because it is still very relevant. I am the creator and co-designer for the modern horror ttrpg Liminal Horror.

As a Liminal Horror Dev team (Josh Domanski and Zach Hazard Vaupen) we decided to make the jump to patreon as a way to share blog posts, behind the scenes peaks, draft in-progress works, and to help fund the different pieces of the LH community that we support through our internal development fund.

One of the difficulties we found in recent months is a home for our newsletter to live and grow, and we've decided to fuse that effort alongside a space where we can share our draft projects and items we're working on that will eventually morph into future Case Files entries (our anthology zine). The primary driver of works here for paid members is sneak peaks at draft entries that may eventually become our semi-annual anthology zine Case Files.

There is no hard fast posting schedule here, but we'll try keep things trickling out regularly in when their draft form is ready. Please only support what you can, and know that this support is going directly into keeping the different parts of Liminal Horror going! We're working on projects and sharing them here, but we're not creating works specifically for Patreon.

WHAT DOES THE PATREON FUND?

The Patreon is directly going to support the Liminal Horror Dev Fund.

This account is what the team uses to pay for, host, and maintain the liminalhorrorrpg.com (this is both the home of all the rules for free and the Annotated Guide of Game Design Resources) as well as the community resource Liminal Horror Library that catalogs all of the third party resources created by the your Liminal Horror community.

The Dev fund also is used to hire editors, artists, and writers for future projects, along with providing funding for the different contests and grants we provide throughout the year.

Every dollar raised through this Patreon is directly put back into the Liminal Horror machine.

WHAT WILL BE INCLUDED HERE?

Free members will get access to regular blog updates. These are similar to the updates that used to be hosted on Substack before we migrated. Since Patreon allows for newsletter style updates, this will be the easiest place to get regular updates. These free posts will make their way over to the pika blog (the current home of the LH blog) but if you want them delivered to your inbox, becoming a free member is the way to go!

Free members will also get regular updates on community spotlights of third party Liminal Horror creators!

Paid Members of $3 or higher will gain access to many short form works from the LH creators alongside pieces of Liminal Horror content (rules, supplements, scenarios, locations, Horrors, NPCs, and so much more). These early-access works will be primary draft pieces (text-only, lightly edited). Many of them will be the bones in which future Case Files will be made.

Direct Access to Case Files: Paid members will also gain access to all published Case Files (currently this is Case Files 01). As new Case Files are released, their digital files will be made available to all paid backers.

Note: The difference in tiers only delineates a member's desire to directly support the Liminal Horror Dev Fund and the community resources it supports. Not everyone has the ability to support with monetary funds. This is completely okay, and many pieces will make their way to blog posts, releases, or in some accessibly form or fashion. Remember, the core rules are always and will always be free in multiple modes, and there is a plethora of free gameable content already out for Liminal Horror!

We are not building the Patreon as being the primary part of our business model or a thing we are directly working "for." Instead it is a way for us to post in progress content, to maybe manage the newsletter portion in a more manageable way for free members, and fund some cool stuff along the way. More paid members means more bits and bobs on future things (including being able to bring in other creators along for the ride).

Thanks for read along and check out what is already posted (including the full pdf for Case Files 01).
