I’ll get it out the way first, the title is misleading. That is to say that we’ve yet to fully realize and release our version of vampires in Liminal Horror (this is going to be a big part of the upcoming release: Brookhaven Book of Monsters, where each chapter is a riff and our interpretation of the classic Universal/Hammer Horror monsters for Liminal Horror).
But goblin, I want to run something with vampires now! I don’t want to wait until you and the team decide to release your version.
Well you’re in luck, as there’s room for all kinds of interpretations, really any version your heart desires can be written and deployed at your Liminal Horror table.
Here’s a start (adapted from Cairn)
Vampire
STR: 14 DEX: 12 CTRL: 16
HP: 12 Armor: 1
Bite (d10)
Regeneration: A damaged vampire regains 6 HP when it bites a target that has blood.
Mortality: If the Vampire is “killed” they will instead become a cloud of gas and retreat to its coffin, reforming at the next nightfall.
True Death: A Vampire can only be killed if exposed to sunlight or if their coffin is destroyed.
Vampiric Drain: When a Vampire deals Critical Damage they drain the target’s essence, dealing d12 damage to CTRL. If the target reaches 0 CTRL this way, it dies and is raised as a thrall of the vampire.
An oft charming, undead creature that drink the blood of mortals. Vampires primarily act at night and sleep in a coffin during the day. Can change into a bat or wolf at will.
