NEMESIS vol. #1
DESCRIPTION

Issue #1 of our Liminal Horror Fanzine is now live for all! With it's launch we are beginning to make Nemesis #2 (which means submissions are open as well)! For those missing out on Between Two Cons we are planning to capture a lot of cool coverage of that that should feature in some form or fashion in the upcoming zine.

You'll notice issue #1 has some of my favorite patreon posts (given new life in a new format) as well as some of the things I've been playing with between projects).

WHAT IS NEMESIS?

Welcome to the first issue if NEMESIS, a fanzine collecting game-able content for the modern horror system LIMINAL HORROR. Use this to inspire play and bring horror to the table with your friends.

HOW CAN I READ NEMESIS?

Nemesis is available for free on a few different platforms:

You can down load it here through the patreon.

It is available as a pdf on itch and on drivethrurpg.

There are a few options for getting it in print:

Visit us in person at an upcoming event

∆ Between Two Cons (10/11)

∆ PDX OSR Con III (10/11)

∆ ArcaneCon (10/16-10/17)

∆ CRIT Con (10/23-10/25) *maybe

We have made it available as Print on Demand over at Mixam: https://mixam.com/print-on-demand/6a1ca9be3d56726b270202fb

FUTURE SUBMISSIONS

As a fanzine NEMESIS is still in it’s early evolutionary stages. Much like the Tyrants of Resident Evil, it will warp and change as it takes on more damage.

Since we’re still figuring out what this is going to be, now is the time to send in your weird and intriguing submissions.

GAME MATERIALS: Anything for LIMINAL HORROR, including but not limited to Resonant Artifacts, Horrors, NPCs, Locations, Dungeons, scenarios, Fallouts, Rituals.

MEDIA CRITICISM: While primarily horror, it can be any genre. Reviews of movies, games, music, etc.

ESSAYS: Musings and critiques on horror, ttrpgs, or anything relevant.

ART: If you have some killer art that needs to be on the pages of a fanzine.

SHORT FORM WRITING: If you know me you know I’m a big fan of short form horror (i.e. Filthy Loot).

MISC: If you have something else you thing would work well in an upcoming issue of NEMESIS, let me know!

You can email your submissions to [email protected]. Not every piece will be chosen, but keep on submitting!

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

Dear reader,

You have in your “hands” the very first issue of NEMESIS. Inspired by BIGBOYGAMETIME’s work on BOSSFIGHT,   I wanted a place to be able to gather fun thing’s I’ve been writing for LIMINAL HORROR that have yet to find a home. Some may eventually make their way into future works, but for now they are going to live here in the pages of NEMESIS.

Its going to be weird, it’s going to get messy, and most of all my hope is that they are going to be fun.

These will range far and wide, from critique, to weird NPCs, to gamble content you can harvest for your table. There will be a smattering of anything  that peaked my interest during one of my weekend early morning writing sessions.

Most of all I wanted something fun I could bring to cons and in person events. One of my goals for 2026 was to do more events (both big and small). I’ve already gotten a good start, with PDX OSR Con 2 in the books (we premiered our three table con-event Liminal Outbreak which was a blast).

My hope is that something in here inspires you at the table. I firmly believe that the core of all of this work (in the ttrpg space) is in service of play. Getting together with friends and spending time in a shared world is what makes this stuff so special.

Until next time!
