Hello,
I've got some updates about the animation and the future.
First of all, I'll continue to do what I love the most and that's animations. I've realized, that for the past few years I haven't grown at all, I don't mean the audience and that kind of thing. I've been watching some of my animations and a thought came to my mind, "Did I reach my peak? Is this all I can do?". I know the quality might have improved because, now I have a better workstation or the programs evolved and so did my editing with time but, it feels like my animating didn't. I don't know but something feels off. It feels like, there was a steady increase and then flatline.
Of course i've learned new techniques, did a few characters and environments but the final results seem, at least to my eyes, the same, every single animation. Is it burn out; would never know even if it was. The one thing I know for a fact is that I won't stop doing this. I just love it. Even when sometimes I don't sleep for 2-3 days straight and I'm basically sleeping sitting on the desk, I feel a pure joy without regrets.
So, I'll try to make some changes. First is my sleep schedule I'll try to fix it back to normal. No more sleeping on 5-6AM for about 3-4 hours. Next is the one thing I don't really like doing on animations and that's audio design. I can't simply not add audio to animations, due to my perfectionist nature that's an incomplete project. But I can reduce the amount and thus the time I spent on audio. The way to do this is simple. I should make loops without an ending. Making an ending means I have to split the time of the main animation and the ending in more than half. I spent most of my time during the ending than the main animation. I believe this way I can improve on making longer loops (let's say 30-40 seconds pure animation no loops, depending on the render times of each animation), improve my animating and motion and increase the animations per month.
I won't just stop making endings on my animations, think of it like a break, I'll just pause for a while until I'm satisfied with my work. On the plus side I can always come back and just add an ending to my animations, I keep a very detailed archive of my files.
For now I won't add any endings on my animations, although I might at some point, it'll definitely be fewer if none. Again, this is temporary so I can improve my animating.
Now onto the current animation. I'm still animating this one but I'm close to the end. It's about 40 seconds long. I did some new things I've learned so I'm anxious to see how it'll come out. If my math are correct it'll take me 2 days to finish and then 2-3 more for the rendering and audio.
Until then I'll post the PotM (I want the polls to come back being a monthly thing like they used to be).
See you soon! Gn!
