Playstation and Chill! [Posters] + Update on CPU

Hello my fams,

The PotM has been completed with a lot of effort. There's not much to add from my latest post o X. My i9-13900k has degraded and I'm having constant blue screens. I was on the talks with intel support, which was awesome so far, great support team, and they accepted my warranty claim. Unfortunately, I'm not eligible for the Advanced Warranty Replacement (money return or sending me a replacement and then I sent mine for inspection). So, I'm stuck with the Standard Warranty Replacement where, I sent my cpu (to the Netherlands, DHL Express covered by intel), they inspect it and then I get a replacement. Typical time from start to finish 14-21 days (plus the clean install of windows, drivers, apps, another 2-3 days of work). Let's say 1 month to cover anything unexpected.

Now, I can't stay that long without a workstation so I've ordered a smaller i5 12400F, nothing great but it's enough so I can work without crashes. What I can't do with this one? I'm gonna lag on viewport but that's fine with me. I can bake physics but, it'll take waaaay too much time, if I calculated correctly...let's say I bake the liquids in 12-14 hours, now I'll need 3-4 days for the same ones. That's not viable, so I'll decrease the length or try some practical liquids. It's the same for particle hair, which I won't use until I'm back with my new i9.

In summary, for the next 2-4 weeks:

I won't be able to make any physics meaning Fluid or Particle hair animations. I'll try some practical methods for the liquids (might not look as good as liquid, but you never know until you try...am I right?), but the hair with hooks and curves doesn't look natural when animated. Also it takes longer to animate the hair.

Next, onto the i5 12400F. I'll probably have it by tomorrow or the day after. DHL will come to pick up the i9 on the 14th, which means I have a lot of time so I can make the switch and pack the i9 very carefully. Until I change to the i5 I won't work (the next 1-2 days). I've lost many times the file for these posters with Honoka and it's frustrating. Once I change cpus I'll start the animation with Yor Forger.

I hope the warranty claim goes smoothly ,if not 600€ down the drain. It's not like I won't buy another one or a 14900k but why waste money here when I need HDDs, a mocap suit and cameras, or another simple build (basic cpu, motherboard, ram, just to be functional) with 2x5090s and then another one. That's a dream to have my own render farm so I can render in just 10-12 hours instead of 4-5 days. Well, that's my plans for the future, I still got to wait for the prices to drop and collect the funds. I cut takeaway the past 4 months for this, still lots of thousands of euros are needed, but I'll get there eventually. I've got plans of hiring people to add audio and color correct while I focus on animation. I want to make this into a real studio. Like they say, Dream big or go home!
