Dante x Lady won the last poll. I’ll be honest, I don’t know the Devil May Cry world that well, so I took some time to learn their vibe. And then I got it. Now I see why so many of you voted for them. Lady is just hot. Not only how she looks, but her whole attitude. And her thing with Dante is kind of special. A lot of it is unspoken, and you can feel the tension between them.
I hope you like the scene. I enjoyed drawing it. Even though they joke around, tease, and flirt, what’s between them isn’t just some shallow thing. There’s something deeper there. My inner romantic thought their first time should be slower, closer, and more tender, face to face. But if after that they got closer and more comfortable with each other, then yeah, why not go for something rougher and more intense later. ;)
I tried to catch their vibe and that teasing energy in the dialogue. Here are my ideas for what Lady could say:
“Yes. Don’t look so proud. Just do what you’ve been thinking about too.”
“Yes. Happy now? Then stop talking and do what you’ve been thinking about.”
“I have. And you like making me say it, don’t you?”
“Yeah. I wanted this. So stop playing and give me what I’ve been waiting for.”
“I have. And I hate that you waited so long.”
“Yes. Don’t make me say it twice.”
“Yes. Now prove you’re not just talking.”
So what do you think Lady would say when Dante hits her with a line like that? If you’ve got your own idea, drop it in the comments. You’ll probably come up with something even better, since I haven’t played DMC myself.
