Gameplay Overview:
Point & Click Mechanics:The heart of the game revolves around interactive exploration. You’ll switch between two main phases:
Day Phase:
Complete quests by finding the right items for NPCs.
Some items require clever combinations, which you do through the "craft" system at the workbench in the maintenance room.
After completing a quest, you'll face a minigame –success unlocks the night phase and moves the story forward.
Night Phase:
Repair elements inside the tavern while goblins are lurking and creeping around.
Use your skills and observations to gather what you need before dawn.
At the end of the night, a character-specific scene unlocks based on your quest progress.
Game Structure:
The game is divided into three acts, each with its own set of quests.
After completing one quest per act, you can choose whether to advance to the next act or explore additional quests for other characters.
Daily, you can only complete one quest for an NPC. After that, you must succeed in the minigame to proceed.
Interactive Dialogues & Cutscenes:In true visual novel fashion, your choices matter!
Engage in conversations with multiple-answer options.
Wrong choises dont matter, but correct choices unlock a "dream sequence" with extra art.
Win & Loss Conditions:
To win, work your way through all three acts and select the goblin girl best suited for the tavern—or unlock the secret ending to romance all four goblin girls!
The game ends prematurely if you fail the tasks or miss a timed quest.
Overall, "Short Night" combines puzzle-solving, narrative choices, and a bit of strategic planning for a compelling experience.
