Hey everyone! Here's a quick update on whats being worked on.
Introducing DuskVerb (Beta)
DuskVerb is a modern algorithmic reverb built from the ground up on a 16-channel Hadamard Feedback Delay Network. Five algorithms, each inspired by the classics:
Plate: Lexicon 224 character. Tight, bright, no early reflections
Hall: Lexicon 480L "Random Hall" / 224 "Concert Hall". The workhorse
Chamber: Lexicon 480L "Rich Chamber" / AMS RMX16 style. Medium space with presence
Room: Lexicon PCM70 small rooms. Early-reflection dominant, natural
Ambient: Lexicon PCM96 "Infinite" / Strymon BigSky "Cloud". Heavy modulation, lush pads
It has pre-delay with tempo sync, freeze mode, bus mode, output EQ, 25 factory presets, and full user preset management. Very early beta and lots of tuning left to do, but the architecture is solid and it sounds good already. I will improve the UI contrast a bit more after tuning. More to come.
Multi-Comp: Opto Mode Getting Better
Work continues on improving the Opto compressor mode to get closer to the hardware. This round focused on the electro-optical circuit modeling: faster CdS cell attack, stronger phosphor coupling for that program-dependent behavior the LA-2A is known for, and a bass-heavy sidechain that matches the real unit's frequency response. The compression knee is softer now too, which fixed the over-compression at moderate/high levels.
It's getting very close to the hardware. The one remaining issue is the low end. it stills sounds a bit weak compared to the real unit. Almost there.
Multi-Q: Down the Matching EQ Rabbit Hole
Multi-Q was on track for a production release, but then I got excited about adding a Matching EQ feature. ADHD is an evil mistress :-)
You capture the spectrum of a reference track, capture your mix, and Multi-Q calculates the EQ curve to match them. It's still very much in development, but I think it's going to be a killer addition, especially for Linux users who don't have many options for this kind of tool.
This release cycle also brought SVF filters replacing the old JUCE IIR filters (less CPU, no allocations), per-band dynamic EQ with threshold/ratio/attack/release, an output limiter with lookahead, per-band stereo routing (L/R/M/S), delta solo, and a bunch of UI improvements. Massive update.

General code cleanup across the whole project
If your in a rush to try these out, you can compile them from source now. I should have a tag/release build by the end of the weekend, for those who prefer pre-built binaries.
