Hi everyone,
Before I start my rambling, I just want to say a massive thank you for your support. When I started writing How I Became the Strongest Man in the Galaxy, I wasn’t convinced I’d manage to write 10 chapters, let alone 99. And the fact that you guys were willing to pay to read ahead and help support my writing? It’s honestly incredible and still feels a little surreal.
As we’re on the cusp of Chapter 100 (which I’m hoping to have ready to go tomorrow), I thought it’d be a good time to check in, discuss the story, and give some updates.
First, I’d love to hear your general thoughts on how the story is progressing. I’ve been trying to develop the story and move things forward while maintaining the humour and charm of the characters. I’ve also introduced a bunch of side characters, and I know there’ll likely be mixed opinions on some of these. If there’s anything you’re really enjoying, or conversely, something you think isn’t quite working, then it’d be great to get your feedback. Obviously, I can’t promise to change anything, but I’ll absolutely take on board what’s said.
Next, some exciting news: the book is being published! I’m working with Mango Media Publishing, and they’ve been absolutely brilliant so far. Not only will it be available on Kindle, but it’s also being recorded as an audiobook! I’ve listened to the narrator’s audition, and I think he’s going to do a brilliant job.
The process is well under way, with the first book fully edited, the cover designed, etc. The recording of the audiobook will be done in the next month or so, then it’ll just be a case of deciding on a release date. I’ll keep you updated and let you know when I have something concrete to share!
Now, onto my thoughts and plans for the story moving forward. I’m not going to give any spoilers or anything, but maybe stop reading now if you want it all to be a complete surprise.
Pete, Rel, and the gang are well into the second half of the Trials now. There’ll be some time skips dotted throughout the story moving forward, and my plan is that the end of Book Two will also mark the end of the Trials. This means that Book Three will be the beginning of Galaxy Showdown itself!
I have some really fun ideas planned for Galaxy Showdown that I’m hoping will add some new and exciting elements to the story. While there’ll still be plenty of fighting, there’ll be other things going on that I think could be a lot of fun.
