They haven't met yet in the comic, but they have been a power couple for ages now in the original shorts.
Eli was originally 'just a roommate' to Max and Spite when they were placed in Hepheastus Academy. But the chemistry was apparent, and both Max and I started shipping them right away. Eli was an amalgamation of my love for Starfire and Nightcrawler. His lore includes being a science experiment, and eventually named a Chimera. He's not the only one. There will be other Chimeras appearing in this world.
