At last, I am about to begin efforts towards what I've been describing as the final and ultimate ending of King of Summer.
Although in a very No Try Studios fashion, it'll be a long one!
I mean, after all the effort I've put into the side-cast and other stuff I've been hinting at, it couldn't possibly be just a couple of h-scenes and call it a day, right?
So I'd like to talk just a little about how this is going to be released and the content you can expect.
...However, in order to talk about certain specific aspects, I will need to get into spoilers for Kendo Ending 1 and Kendo Ending 2, so I will first tackle some non-spoilery information.
Length, Releases and Type of Content
First off, it'll be a long series of events, so don't despair (or feel too happy if you were waiting for a quick ending), there's still plenty of months of regular King of Summer content to enjoy. I also know I have a few other pending scenes to make, such as the last Arato x Natsuki scene. The plan is to release those in-between the Finale updates, so the very final scene of the Finale may also be the very final big KoS update I'll make.
I will be adding to the Finale with each release going forward, though how much content will vary depending on different factors, such as if I need to release a few story-only scenes in a row.
It's hard to gauge how lengthy it'll be, but it should, but the added content should, at the very least, be more than what you'll find in Kendo Ending 1 and Kendo Ending 2 combined.
These Finale scenes will involve most of the game's cast, and each female character will get a few moments to shine.
As for the type of content, it'll be in the vein of what was already present in the other Kendo Endings, with a heavy focus on the reveal of NTR, jealousy, and the fallout of it all, this time with a heavy focus on group content, as well as new Shizuka-related content (it has been a while). Now, I hear some of you asking: will it be hardcore? Yes. Will the penises be big? Also yes. Will Arato get NTR'd? Will Shizuka? The answer to that is [REDACTED].
And yeah, impregnation/pregnancy content somewhere in-between. You preg fans can stop throwing bricks at my windows now. I will be making the pregnancy scenes proper optional, since it's not my main niche so I don't want non-fans to suffer because of my hubris.
Next up some details that contain spoilers for Kendo Endings 1 & 2, so if you haven't played those, you can stop reading here.
How to Access, and How Will It Be Implemented in the Story?
Should be obvious, but this Finale will become available after reaching manly level 80 with Kendo, which necessarily requires to have completed the latest Naomi content.
After that is done, when choosing to call Mary to the beach as Satoshi, you will be given the option to meet Mary in her original swimsuit, or her brand new swimsuit. This will be the branching point for the Finale, sort of.
But other than a different outfit, the conversation might go in a similar way to how it was. However, you will notice that instead of skipping the whole day and jumping ahead to Satoshi and Mary meeting at night, you will now follow Satoshi as he walks around the resort for one last time, meeting other characters along the way.
...Although, of course, these meetings won't be all fun and games. His chance to properly bond with any of these characters has passed, after all. So instead, Satoshi will get to experience first-hand how some newfound fantasies of his are immediately crushed.
For a few updates, this is how this Finale will be tackled: a number of extra scenes will be added to segments where time used to simply skip ahead in the older endings, and certain scenes that originally included only Kendo and Mary will be replaced for different, brand new scenes with extra characters in participation.
Story scenes will be added as well, particularly scenes focusing on Arato and Naomi, as their role and choices during this ending sequence are expanded.
Finally, once the confrontation between Kendo and Shizuka is reached, a REAL branching point will be presented. If you've played it, you know which one it is: the one that required for level 80 to be reached. From that point on, it'll be a barrage of new content until the Finale is completed.
I've had this Finale planned out for more than a year. Will it turn out to be good and help King of Summer stick the landing, or will it be a disappointment? I hope the former! But you guys will be the ones to decide.
Is There a Detailed Content Roadmap?
Not at the moment. But I can tell you what's coming in the next couple of weeks.
King of Summer v 0.6.9-full
This update will contain the last Naomi scene (already released in the early update), and the beginning of the Finale, which will include a story scene with Mary, a Hanako h-scene and a Kaoru & Rin h-scene. It is scheduled to release next Monday the 13th.
King of Summer v 0.7.0-early & full
This update will contain a Natsuki h-scene, an extension to the Mary Reveal scene that already exists in the game, and a brand new group scene (details will be kept secret for a few weeks, but it's a fun one).
So that's it! I've been waiting quite a while to get here, so I'm very excited!
Of course, it's sad to think I'm now working on the ending of King of Summer proper... but I'm happy with what I've made, and as I said, there's still so much content planned that I'll keep feeding you oh supporters of mine!
