Hello my lovely Patrons,
Ahhh I'm back from the vacation! It's been such an amazing time, we were making at least 20k steps a day and were absolutely exhausted hahah but also so happy! I'm forever grateful that I was able to visit Japan, which has been my dream for a long time.
I'm still fighting the jet lag a bit but today I picked up my pencil for the first time in three weeks 🥹 Definitely one of the longest break I've taken. Was feeling kind of anxious... "will my drawings be good?", "what if I forgot how to draw", "what if I'm artblocked?". Lots of questions were running through my head but then I remembered the old trick to let go of all the expectations and purposefully make a sketch that's BAD! With this mindset in my head I started to feel more loose and not scared for how the final result will look like. I did a few doodles of the concept of my upcoming illustration for Mermay and then I felt the spark of wanting to draw more! I decided to stick with the Mermay theme and sketched some mermaids. Not sure what got into me but I really felt like adding some color to my sketches using watercolor, kind of forgetting that the sketchbook paper is really thin... so the end result turned out really wonky! haha 🙈 But I still thought I'd share it with you - even if it's not "perfect".
What are my plans for this month?
I've just started working on my new Mermay illustration - really excited to share the sneak peek with you guys soon! 🥰 Also currently working on a new puzzle design but that's also a surprise! 🤫 I'm also tempted to do a fun little design for tote bags but I'll see how that goes.
As for the next shop opening - I'm aiming at the middle of June, I'll keep you guys updated! 💞
