Dear Journal:
It’s hard to believe that this time next week we’ll be cruising the Mexican Riviera. Everyone is excited. Even sissy, who is usually blasé about family-related things, seems jazzed.
We’ve moved past my “fat ass” comment and are back on speaking terms. The key to dealing with my sister, I’ve learned, is to show her deference. Doing that would’ve made me throw up in my mouth last year (and, truthfully, it still brings up a bit of bile at the back of my throat), but thanks to Dr. Chen, I’m getting better at playing the psychological game. It also helps knowing that the pedestal Michelle puts herself on is on the verge of collapse.
“What are you wearing on the cruise, sis?... OMG, you’ll look so hot in that! … I wish I could pull off a look like that. … Guys won’t want to leave the boat! … No, you look great. … It’s not even noticeable. … Besides, Mexican men love breasts and a booty.”
ALL men love breasts and a booty; it’s just that not all of them like them big, fat, and floppy. It’s strange seeing sis with a touch of insecurity. Fortunately, I’ve had plenty of experience dealing with my own…
“Don’t worry about it. … Everyone gains weight on vacation … It’s a rite of passage! … Besides, this cruise is for you, remember? … You should enjoy it to the max. … Don’t worry, I’ll go to the gym with you when we get back.”
My sister is so high maintenance. She’s like a pampered Pekingese. It's a good thing she responds well to petting and treats!

PS: I just found out that Shanna Stevens is our cruise’s headlining entertainer. OMG, I love her! She has one of the best voices I’ve ever heard. Can’t wait!!!
