Apollo 8 Status Board #2: Storm clouds on the horizon
DESCRIPTION

Hello, Patrons. October has brought with it some difficult challenges, from the closure of NARA due to the U.S. government shutdown, to the untimely passing of my older sister, who was only 30 years of age.

Obviously I am focusing on my family and being where I am needed. This has thrown something of a wrench into the period of time I had blocked out to research and write the script for Apollo 8:R, so I'd just like to mentally prepare everyone for the possibility of a delay in the schedule -- maybe to early-mid January (1/5-1/10?) There's quite a lot of things that are demanding my attention and presence that aren't video production, however the machinery does continue to spin at Homemade Documentaries. We have reached our funding target for Apollo 8, so further income will be set aside for ASTP next spring, which was always going to be a uniquely expensive project due to the fact that I am starting from complete scratch on its film. Future updates will include a vertical "ASTP fund" bar so that everyone is able to keep track of the money and see where we're at. Between a planned move to Philadelphia (to be closer to the national archives), the passing of my sister, and the shutdown -- October 2025 may not be a month looked back on with much fondness, but I greatly appreciate you all continuing to support this effort and there's nothing I look forward to more than getting back into it and producing an amazing Apollo 8 film.

For my $30 and up Patrons, I have an exciting development: You can expect complete Apollo program TV broadcasts to be added to their respective mission folders in the coming days. I hope this makes up for the relative lack of development there in recent times.

Obviously the sting of not being able to make the anniversary, and technically not finishing 3 projects in this calendar year is great -- but this is the kind of terrible event that one simply cannot plan for and demands its price in tears and time.

Thank you,

-Jackson
