Sup all you fine feathered folk! Hope you and your feathers are doing well. I've been good myself - I caught both Spoon and Ratboys a few days ago, and they killed it per usual. Spoon also did Out Go The Lights from Transference, which is A Thing That Means A Lot To Me Personally.
It's been a while (over two months) since I gave y'all a lil peek into my plans for upcoming videos. Let's fix that! And at the end, you can let me know what video ideas you're most interested in.

Next up - music biopics! A lot of you were into this idea when I did the last poll, and I figured out a good angle to talk about them. That'll be out next week.
After that... the next Deep Discog Dive! The script is coming along nicely, and my plan is to spend a solid two weeks editing it. I haven't needed two weeks to edit a DDD since... I think Prince? But trust me, this artist is gonna need it.
That DDD will likely be out on July 31st. If you're a paid member, you might remember I initially said it would be out on the 24th. I've since decided to push it back so that I can give the script the time and attention it deserves.

OTHER VIDEO IDEAS
1990s One Hit Wonders: this is less an idea and more "a thing I will do, it'll just depend on when it comes out." The past two OHW videos have been a lot of fun, and I'd love to dive into the 90s. I think the total amount could rival if not outright surpass the 2000s, but we'll have to see!
2026's Songs of The Summer: Speaking of "things I will do," my regular ranking of the summer's big hits will come back! Most likely at the end of August. Last year's roster of summer songs was dreadful, and I think this year's has been... better? At the very least, there isn't a colossal dud like Ordinary.
Also question about this one: with the past two ranking videos, I based my ranking on the top 10 of Billboard's SOTS list, but their full list includes 20 songs. Would anyone object if I did a top 20 ranking instead of a top 10? I figure it gives me the chance to talk about more songs, but maybe some folks would prefer the simplicity of a top 10 list. Let me know!
7 Masterpieces: I got inspired by this video where the guy tries to find 7 perfect games that define the entire history of gaming. Something like that but about music could be really interesting - could you narrow down the history of recorded music to just 7 perfect albums? Even if I get them all wrong, the debate we'd all have would be delicious.
The Worst Song on Every [X ARTIST] Album: And on the topic of inspiration, I've seen videos like this where someone goes thru a video game series and gives their takes on the worst area/boss/level in each entry. I think something like that about artists like the Beatles or Michael Jackson or Bowie could not only be fun, but also provide a new way of looking at massive musicians - their career viewed through their least good (to me) songs.
The Worst Ways To Listen To The Best Music: One more bolt of inspiration - this video made me think about great/good albums that have garbage mixes or strange ways to listen to them. I'm thinking Metallica's original Death Magnetic mix, the Beatles' 2009 stereo mixes, any song played with Hitclips, etc.
Converse's Three Artist One Song Series: Back in the 2000s and 2010s, Converse used to release one-off singles with three random artists collaborating. You likely know it best for giving us Doyathing with Gorillaz, Andre 3000 and James Murphy. But they did several more songs, and it could be cool to go back and trace the history of that project. Maybe even find someone who worked on it and interview them?
Morgan Wallen: This idea came to me as I've been working on a Defining 2020s script. I'd argue Morgan is one of this decade's three defining megastars (Bad Bunny and Taylor Swift being the other two). But his dominance has been the most scrutinized out of those three for many reasons, and I wanted to better understand why he's stayed such a massive presence.
Fade-Out: I mentioned this idea last time, but it's still been in my noggin. It'd be a look at the history of the fade-out, notable examples of it in music, and why it's less of a thing these days. Could be a good time!
