I've been working on my mini comic this week, and finally have more info to share :)
Fantastika is about a young man, Pasha, in 1960s Eastern Europe who falls asleep reading a sci-fi novel in bed. He is woken up by bright light coming in his window, and a man from the stars comes down and leads him by the hand on a tour of the galaxy.
The art is inspired by vintage Soviet space race art, from propaganda posters to the work of Andrei Sokolov and Alexey Leonov. The comic will be wordless, approximately 17 pages. It will be romantic, but not sexual. This is a comic I'm looking to print up for CAKE (Chicago Alternate Comics Expo) next year, and I wanted to make some all ages work to share with a wider audience.
Most of my sketches are pencil roughs so far, but here's what I've got!
