Alright, the cat is out of the bag: in version 0.4 the MC gets a body and can consequently send pictures of his own. This was actually never planned, so for this to happen the chat engine needed a bit of work to even allow for player messages to contain pictures in the first place.
But why was this not planned and why is it happening? The initial draft of the game intended for there to be plenty of choices the player himself gets to make. Consequently, I want the player to feel like having an impact on what is happening in the game and to identify themselves with the MC. The player character was always meant as an extension of the player playing the game and never as a standalone character with a voice, body and personality of his own.
There is however a lot of work happening in the background already regarding future scenes for the game. To clarify: there are chat scenarios which is what is currently playable in game and there are scenes which refers to a one on one meetup of the MC with a girl. It might come as a shock, at least it was a surprise for me, but in order to show explicit scenes... we kind of need a male body.
The intent was for all of these to be out of the POV of the MC, however testing shows that many things would not be possible if the game gets restricted to this. So, as a result the character now has his very own body.
When I made this decision, I knew I wanted this to be something special and play around with the new things a player body would unlock. This way we immediately get something out of this development.
The first rule is that this change is heavily anchored into the story as a whole, leading to many sequences that are the direct result of this change, e.g. with Megra being proud of her accomplishment. The second is that this unlocks a new kind of teasing where the tables are reversed and we can see the rather horny and desperate side of the girls, where the player is the one that is teasing and withholding pictures. This is seen in Versions 0.4 and 0.5, and then much more in V0.6.
As with many of these decisions: even though it wasn't initially planned, I am very happy with this development and the new toys I get to play with in the chat scenarios. Should the player choose to not want to see the male body, nearly all of these pictures can be locked and not shown by the players chat choices. Although that would result in some missed opportunities.
