1) Immediate aftermath: Carla returns alone
Later in the afternoon in the village: Carla bursts back in, frantic but trying to stay composed.
She reports:
· Wendy ran into the forest and wouldn’t stop.
· A Vulcan ambushed them.
· Carla was struck down and Wendy was taken (sell Carla’s anger at herself for getting caught).
· Roubaul and guild members mobilize search parties, but Carla insists time matters (Wendy is a child + Vulcan behavior).
2) Ben volunteers; Carla reluctantly accepts
Ben steps forward immediately.
Carla tries to refuse (she doesn’t fully trust him yet), but she’s desperate.
Ben makes it simple: Wendy saved him. He’s not letting her be taken.
Roubaul gives permission with a calm directive: rescue first, questions later.
Note: This preserves the “Ben + Carla forced teamwork” vibe that pays off later.
3) Wendy POV: the cave (fear → endurance)
Cut to Wendy in the Vulcan’s lair.
Vulcan is elated and creepy, doing a “celebration”/dance routine because he thinks he finally has a “woman.”
Wendy is terrified but trying to keep her breathing steady (focus, inhale, don’t panic).
4) Rescue travel: Carla flies Ben along the river (then crashes)
Carla grabs Ben and takes off, following the river line like a natural “trail.”
Mid-flight: Carla’s Aerial Magic drains faster than expected (panic), echoing LHFT V2 Ch.3’s energy and outcome (sudden drop) .
They splash down; Ben hauls Carla out, annoyed-but-concerned.
Carla is embarrassed, defensive, and angry at her limitations.
5) The forest fight: Wyverns attack → Omnitrix reboot completes
As they move on foot searching for a den/cave, they get jumped by forest Wyverns.
Ben tries to fight human-style at first (spear/knife, evasive movement) but it’s not enough.
Stress-trigger: the Omnitrix finally finishes adapting/rebooting.
Clear UI line: “Adaptive reboot complete.”
Another: “Environmental integration stabilized.”
Lockouts lift: transformations available.
Ben goes Heatblast.
He burns/forces the Wyverns back without starting a wildfire (show control + maturity at 18).
Add the scan-Carla moment here:
· The Omnitrix pings “Uncatalogued DNA sample detected” when Carla is on him / close contact (like LHFT V2’s cave scan beat) .
Carla reaction: stunned, suspicious, then pure awe. She immediately tries to categorize it as Magic (Take-Over). This sets up the later misunderstanding.
6) Wendy’s turning point: courage replaces panic
Back in the cave: Wendy tries to get the Vulcan to stall for time, hoping that Ben and the guild will save her.
Vulcan is happy to have found a wife after getting rid of that trespasser. Curiosity piqued, Wendy asks who that man was. Vulcan brags he doesn’t remember details, only “man” + “threw him in river.”
Wendy realizes this was the Vulcan that tossed Ben in the river, nearly killing him.
She then recalls Ben’s pep talk from her training session in Ch.1.
Wendy’s emotional pivot: fear → anger → resolve.
She uses the environment to her advantage, creating a tornado that sends the Vulcan flying outside the cave.
7) Convergence: Ben + Carla arrive as Wendy fights
Ben and Carla track signs (footprints, broken branches, smell—Wildmutt sense’s).
They arrive just as Wendy is in the fight, which moves to outside the cave.
Ben is ready to jump in, but Wendy finishes it herself (this keeps Wendy’s agency).
Vulcan flees or gets launched far away (mirror LHFT V2’s “send him flying” climax beat).
8) Extraction: Terraspin ride home
With Wendy and Carla tired, Ben chooses Terraspin for transport — this mirrors the “airborne return” set piece .
9) The village return: shock + relief + “Take-Over wizard” misunderstanding
They arrive to a crowd/search parties.
Everyone celebrates Wendy first.
Then the attention shifts to the “giant flying turtle-man,” echoing the same comedic disbelief beat .
Wendy blurts excitedly that Ben must be a Take-Over wizard (because that’s the closest label she knows) .
Ben is confused: he doesn’t know what Take-Over is.
10) Feast/celebration: reveal + relationship tension
Feast to celebrate Wendy’s return (and because Cait Shelter is communal).
Wendy and Carla are still processing what Ben is. Wendy is a little hurt he “hid it” (even though he couldn’t access it before). Carla is guarded: if he can do that, what else can he do?
Ben explains the Omnitrix in simple terms:
· alien tech,
· Alien transformations,
· not magic,
· and he was locked out until today.
The guild is shocked over the concept and existence of “aliens”. Roubaul remains calm and quiet, processing this information…his mind drifting to Ben’s Terraspin form—and the individual from his past it reminds him of.
11) Permission + decision: Wendy travels with Ben
After celebration, Ben asks Roubaul privately about taking Wendy (and Carla) to travel for a while.
Roubaul agrees because:
· Wendy needs exposure beyond the village,
· fear won’t shrink if her world stays small,
· and Ben has proven his character by risking himself for her.
Brief talk over Ben’s Terraspin form and if Ben knows where he acquired that form. Ben is confused over Roubaul’s curiosity but answers, giving a basic explanation of Galapagus.
Afterward, Roubaul wonders if Ben could be the one fated to finally put an end to Nirvana. (Mirror to LHFTV2 Ch.3)
Later, Carla and Ben (who has transformed into this Exceed form) have a separate talk afterward:
· Carla admits she misjudged him.
· Ben admits Carla cares more than she shows.
Carla gives her blessing for Ben to ask if Wendy would like to travel with him. Ben assures Carla that he’d want her to come with them. She is Wendy’s partner and friend after all.
12) Chapter end: departure
Ben asks Wendy directly if she’d like to travel with him.
Wendy agrees instantly (bright excitement + determination).
Final scene: the trio leaving the village behind with two bags of supplies, heading toward the wider world of Fiore.
