Hello and welcome to this new post, in which I will dive into the upcoming features of the AniPlaylist app! Today's focus is on the v1.0.15 which will be available in a few days on the app stores.
Reverse Search & cross-platform link conversion
The main new feature coming in this version is the comeback of the reverse search! This feature was already available on our website but was not included in the first release of the app.The reverse search feature allows you to paste a Spotify or Apple Music link into the search to see if the song or album is from an anime!
In the example below, I pasted the link of the song "Mirage" by Creepy Nuts from Spotify. Before, this wouldn't return any result, but thanks to the reverse search, it now returns the song it actually matches in the AniPlaylist database. Helping you easily remember from which anime a song comes from!
Another usage of this feature is when you find a song from a platform you don't use. Let's say a friend sent you a Spotify link of their favorite anime song, but you use Apple Music... Now you can simply paste this link in the search, and it will return the equivalent link on Apple Music (if you set the app to Apple Music in the settings)
Wishlist confirmation step
Some of the early feedbacks we got from users is that it's too easy to remove a song or album from your wishlist by miss-clicking. Once hitting the heart icon from the wishlist, the song was immediately removed, so now I added a confirmation step before deleting each item
Performances and bug fixes
Aside from that, I also made some overall performance improvements of the app, you may not feel it if your phone is recent, but it should feel better on OS older versions.I also fixed various visual issues:
On the app's first launch, when asking users to select their streaming platform, the texts shown above were overlapping on some Android devices
Reduced the margin below the search results and the wishlist items
For those who are using a different music streaming platform, I improved the visibility of the waiting list link:
EDIT 01/08: v1.0.16
A minor v1.0.16 update was released, including various bug fixes and a change which makes your wishlist songs & albums appear greyed out to avoid confusing them as released songs.At the moment, released songs are not yet removed from your wishlists, but this will be handled in a future update!
