DESCRIPTION

JHU Comics will have a free Eltingville Club cosplay print at the May 2nd FCBD event, for those picking up a copy of Nerd Inferno at the signing. I believe they will also have the print available at the New Dorp Comic Con on May 16th, which I will also be at. People are free to bring anything they already own to get signed at either event (or any event I attend).

If all goes according to plan, there will be two more signings announced soon. One is a local NYC signing, the other will involve me nervously getting on an airplane. Will let folks know when/if things happen.

After promoting my third Catacomb of Torment story for Oni/EC, I dashed off a new pitch and it's been sent off to EC for their approval. So, that was nifty. I'm not sure when I can work on it if it does get accepted, because the next six weeks or so are going to be nuts due to signings and interviews.

Speaking of which, I have a podcast interview scheduled for Sunday, and tomorrow I speak with a college comics club via Zoom. A recent interview I did with a comics site is still being edited, unless the interviewer gave up on all the verbiage I subjected them to and quit. I would not blame them.

My 61st birthday passed uneventfully, I didn't do anything that day, I didn't even have the frozen pizza and Dr. Pepper that I bought for the occassion because my stomach wasn't up to it. Two days after I celebrated with friends with dinner and a pitcher of Żywiec at Little Poland in Manhattan, and then drinks and pinball at Barcade on St. Marks. I haven't played pinball since a few games at WFMU a few years ago after I was a guest on Fox's 3-6 am show (iirc they had/have the Bram Stoker's Dracula pin), and I've missed it terribly. The bar had a few machines but we kept to Jaws and Funhouse, which is one of my favorites of all time. I was rusty as hell but eventually I did get to put Rudy to sleep and sink the ball for the multiball (bleagh!). It was a fun night and I'm hoping we can hit up some of the Brooklyn pinball bars before too long, if not the great Silverball Arcade in Asbury Park, NJ, which I recommend to anyone interested in pinball.

I will say that after playing pinball the other night my hand and wrist are still in a lot of pain, even though I wore my wrist brace . I'm leaning more and more towards getting the carpal tunnel surgery. I get a new EMG next week at my neurologist's and we'll talk about it. I'm not getting any younger and my hand isn't getting any better.

Winky the Pirate Girl's rescue/adoption anniversary is coming up soon. Four years with the bestest cat ever.

Finally: Thanks very much to any and all out there who have preordered a copy of Nerd Inferno, anyone planning to come to any of the upcoming signings, and all of you supporting my work by being a backer of the Patreon. This has been a pretty unreal year for me so far, and I appreciate the interest and support people have shown the new collection and my work in general. Hope you enjoy the book when you get it, and I hope to see some of you next month.
