Comics people include Sean Chen, Delfin Barral and Kyle Baker. So, two Instant Piano guys sitting behind tables in a gymnasium or wherever they will stow us. If you actually have copies of Instant Piano and are in the area, that means you can get two signatures on those babies.
I am bringing a few copies of the Nerd Inferno and Beasts of Burden books, however many I can manage to carry down to the car. Which means, not a heck of a lot of them. Maybe four of each. I have a handcart but getting them to the car with my screwy arm is going to be a goocher. These are heavy-ass books that fill up a box quickly. We'll see how it goes when I start throwing things into the trunk later today. The handcart we use at cons was buried in the basement and had cobwebs all over it, it's been...maybe ten years since we've had to use it? I think the last con we set up at was Jet City in Tacoma, WA, eight years ago, but obviously we didn't pack a handcart. Crazy. Since then I've only done the New Dorp Comic Con, a small high school show that I didn't need to take boxes to because JHU Comics was setting up. And in the pre-Covid days, I was sitting with the Comic Book Jones crew. My best long box-lugging days are long behind me now.
I also have a few card drawings I got done for the con (after not getting them done for the New Dorp show) which I'll be selling. Or trying to sell. I don't know what I'll be asking for them but it certainly won't be what they can go for on ebay. If the drawings don't move I'll put them on eBay and maybe sell one or two here at the appropriate backing tiers. I think that's the $3 and up? $5 and up? I have to check. Anyway, that's that about that.
I might also have a few of the JHU Eltingville prints that I'll give out with purchases of the Nerd Inferno book. Every copy of nerd Inferno gets a sketch of a requested character (from the book, within reason) and the Beasts books get a little sketch of Winky the Pirate Cat. I can't draw realistic-looking animals, so that's what people get.
This is the last stop of the Nerd Inferno Tour in May, and my fifth signing in five weeks. And it's the last scheduled signing I have in the local NYC area for the time being. After tomorrow I get a few weeks to catch up on work and commission drawings, start an EC script and prep for my return trip to Four Color Fantasies in Winchester, VA for the last Nerd Inferno event. Unless I accept an offer to fly to a small con in July. Or any other offers that may pop up. But we're almost done.
