If some of you didn't know yet, I was sick, so I wasn't able to draw much last week. Since I'm feeling way better now, I was finally able to start a new heels illustration, which will be Evelyn's heels! 🙏
I'm simultaneously working on the Lucy bodysuit piece, but this illustration made me realize something: I've gotten really bad at drawing without references! All these heels and feet illustrations have kinda made me dependent on them, which is why my drawing process takes way too long now.
I've gotten to know so many cool artists, and watching them draw feels so different. They can just sketch a cool pose or idea in no time, while I have to search through countless references 😵💫 I want to change that, which is why I'll start doing more gesture drawings and studies again to expand my visual library!
I think a good way to start is to look at a reference, try to draw it from memory, and then compare the two and fix my mistakes.
This endeavor, combined with the fact that I need to finish some assignments before July 15th and start studying for exams almost immediately afterward, will probably lead to me posting a bit less. Sometime in September, I'll be able to focus on art full time again 🙇♂️
Anyways, I hope you guys like the WIP!
I hadn't analyzed Evelyn's heels thoroughly before, so it was only a few minutes ago that I realized the back part of her foot isn't actually part of the boot. It's more like a leather/latex sock directly connected to her pants, and you know what that means... leather stirrup alt version!! 😏
