Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth Modding Plans

DESCRIPTION

The day is almost here, and I've been thinking about which mods should be created first and the order that they should be created in. So I will quickly outline my current plans.

Phase 1: Refresh and Update FF7 Remake Mods

The models from Rebirth will likely be ripped first before modders are able to figure out how to inject models back into Rebirth. So in the first few weeks while Rebirth modding is still being worked out, I'll be using the higher resolution Rebirth models to improve my current Remake mods.

This includes using and merging the new high res textures with my Hyper HD mods, and also using the higher poly models as a new base to build my Nude Natural mods off of for Remake.

Phase 2: Rebirth Mods from Remake

There may be some overlap with Phase 1 and 2 timings depending on how long it takes for the modding tools and workflows to mature. But when they do mature, I'll first begin taking the improved FF7 Remake mods and converting them into Rebirth mods.

I'm not sure if they will completely translate 1 to 1, but in theory, the models should then be at parity with each other in Remake and Rebirth which would be interesting to see.

Phase 3: New Rebirth Mods

I haven't played Rebirth yet actually, but Phase 3 will will be the last Phase for all the new characters and scenarios that I think would be interesting to make mods for that weren't in Remake. I can't say what these will be yet though until I play through the game!

Conclusion

These Phases aren't set in stone, but are just my general game plans once the game releases! There are some other mods that I think could be interesting, but I think other modders and artists might get to them first. Such as improving the HD Project mod for Remake, or importing Ever Crisis outfits and weapons.

But let me know what you think about this strategy, or if there are any mods you guys are interested in that I may have missed in this outline!
