It's been a while since one of these. I had a busy December and January with the holidays about. Additionally, I wanted to take some time for myself.

I'm probably fine, but recent activity has me a bit spooked.
Chitinous Carnival
But, holidays are over. I took some time to draft ideas to use for filling out chitinous carnival. I jotted down a mind map of various attractions I want to fill the carnival with. Furthermore, I'm working on stubs for the various locations.
Additionally, I've started work on a scene featuring your friend giving birth to their own infestations. This work also includes tracking their infestations as you play. I'm working on this because it'll be vital as a synchronization point leading into the free exploration side of the game.
Finally thing to note about Chitinous Carnival: I've decided to just go all in on having only one route. The game will be completely focused around descending further into the carnival. I wanted to have a whole morality systems and what not, but it's just slowing down development. It's left me unable to fully focus on adding depth to the game. Furthermore, most of the content I've worked on is for the descent route.
However, this does mean some scenes will have to go. But, they'll be replaced with new scenes. I will get a new carnival game added this year alongside adding a new attractions to the carnival.
Random Tiny Project
Towards the end of my break, I made a small point and click IF. It's extremely short (only 16 images with 4 endings). But, it was a fun distraction. It features a tiger getting into some frisky situations in the woods.

Going Forwards
Current plans is to work on the new scene for your friend and to finally build content for the free roaming. Additionally, I made a space for publishing my random experiments to Itch.io. Don't go expecting anything to grand from that side.
And hopefully I can make these a regular occurrence again. I've abandoned all ideas of having a day job this year. No more LinkedIn. No more passive worries about job searching. So, much less stress.
