DESCRIPTION

Happy New Year!

Scene Synopsis: While an eclectic group of characters embark on a strange journey through the afterlife, a shapeshifting ghost keeps tabs on the engines of Sodor.

The start of a new year is full of possibility. You may feel gratitude, but you may also feel a desire to do MORE. I hope that's the case for 2025. We have certainly have a lot we can dive into: A movie, WIP's we can revisit, and new things too.

For the Rock Stars among railway folk and the Swashbuckling Heroes, enjoy two WIP scenes from Nowhere. They feature Edward, Molly, Young Tucker, Victor, Kevin, Mr. Hugh, Cora, Skarloey, Rheneas, as well as Edward's Driver and a Workman.

In 2024, I filmed less for Nowhere than I did in 2023. I spent more time brainstorming and thinking of ways to improve the most difficult parts of the story. I MIGHT re-film this scene (it came out more Autumnal than I like). That being said, the shot of Rheneas stopping midway by the sheds with the Owl looking over him looks so good. Definitely my favorite part. I also like my Steamworks set. I think one way I might improve both of them is seeing how they look on a flat, ballast-y texture.

The animation by Minty-Industrial, and the score is temporary. It's reused from the turntable2002's Shell on Wheels score. I thought it set the tone well.

I might have mentioned this on the watch party call, but one of the most difficult parts about executing Nowhere was the fact that most of it does not take place on Earth. This is a peculiar problem to have when you create a Thomas Fan Series. A lot of the Sodor Scenes do have a lock on them because I really like where they are and how they connect to the main story.

To make "another planet" feel like "another planet", I have my eyes on going out West to film. (California, Oregon, Washington, and Arizona!). I have a better lock on what I want than I did years ago. Like Thomas and Ace, I might need my own Big World Big Adventure to the Salt Flats of Utah at some point too. Will this be the year? If it is, you'll hear it here first.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy it!
