Hello everyone!
As peak spring fast-approaches, it's high time for an update.
The next story will be an adaptation of the Cloud Factory by Halfbakedhex8. There is also a second story penned by him that is in production that Duck the Great Western Engine will play a key role in.
One of my goals this winter has been to flesh out the characters of the Rock Stars and Darren Dry after they were all unceremoniously blown up by disasters orchestrated by Sir Frederick Aura. I'm happy to say they've come a long way and we'll learn more about them in future stories.
The Rock Stars did not have names for the longest time. Like engines, I think people do tend to appreciate having them. Meet Starla and Rosa! They are members of Roxanne's band, Galaxy Girl and the Solar Sisters. They have each had impressive careers making many circles around the sun, and aren't afraid to "seize the day" in any way they know how.
Darren Dry is the owner and sole employee of I Can Surveying on the Island of Sodor. In the year 1998, Darren was barely scraping by until he received a government contract that required him to survey the rocky mountains and valleys of Ulfstead, which were long undisturbed out of respect to treaties and tapestries that dated as far back as Medieval Times. Unfortunately, most of these records were not preserved properly and the exact reasoning why this part of the Island had been left alone had been lost to time.
Darren returned from his expedition not only with charts and measurements, but a fervent belief that the rock, iron ore, and mineral deposits found there would be invaluable to the Island's urban development. It took time for anyone to take Darren's claims seriously until a younger Sir Frederick Aura (a Manager at the Sodor Ironworks) was willing to endorse him.
Now where does this take us? Well, the Rock Stars and Darren Dry will both be guests at the Thin Controller's and Roxanne's wedding in the early 2000's, an upcoming story where Flying Scotsman Productions will be serving as a producer.
In addition to a wedding episode, we are also working on a story told from the troublesome trucks perspective as well as a story from the Great Waterton Tramway.
