Hello everyone
Okay, this time I was busy.
I consult on another project and they needed some last minute help to get the release out. (How many excuses can I come up with?)
Man, it took a lot to get that last release out and, as many of you noticed, we didn't quite make it with one of the animations. We're still working to get the animations back on a schedule and we've had some false starts trying to get it there. It didn't help that this was quite an intensive release for animations. The next couple are a little lighter so I'm hoping that gives us some time to catch up before release 11 which is heavy with animations again.
Damn, she's thicc
Some of you may have noticed the character selection screen in this last episode. I'll not say too much as I know a lot of you don't have access yet. In brief, at one point you can pick the girl for the sex scene by clicking her on screen rather than a menu. Now the game is at a place where Randall has a lot of options regarding who he interacts with, we will be looking to add a few more moments like this there there is a decent amount of choice.It may take us a while to get to all the extra scenes. Our current plan is to work through the story and then spend some time time thickening the game in places. The aim will be to find moments where the player can choose to do different sex scenes that don't have an impact on the story or would tell the same story beats through a different scene.
Like I say, this won't be until much later. Our hope is to add plenty of fun sexual encounters for people playing through another time... or want to save spam to see it all first time.
What I'm up to
I've started work on Release 12. It's hard to talk about as there is so much that would be a spoiler for things you guys haven't encountered. It really feels like 12 is where we have passed the summit of setting the story up and are heading the end. Things are occurring that will lead to the dramatic conclusions. I also have to bear in mind that we need enough time after all the drama to spend wrapping up the status of the relationships and getting to enjoy them.
While there will be at least a couple of endings that relate to the crime plot, there are more variations with the relationship side of things.
Endings are hard
Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, The Amazing Digital Circus... Endings are controversial things. Some people will have an idea of how they want things to go at the end. While in the middle of a story people still believe that it will go the way they want but as soon as their expectations are met or destroyed.
As the writer, I am very aware that the ending has to either be the most incredible thing ever written and exceed all expectations to silence critics. Or, and this is the more realistic scenario, it has to at least cover the basics of what most people want and the others will just have to be upset about it.
I have to face the fact that some people will be pissed off, regardless of what I do. I would like everyone to be happy. Perhaps, closer to the end, I can get you guys to throw your expectations at me and see if I'm even close to the target.
