Things are escalating really fast with anything related to adult content. I've been a member of multiple Discord servers for adult game developers-all of them are gone now. Most simply shut down and switched to other platforms. A few I'm still following on their new platforms after the migration.
Mastercard and Visa have also rolled out a new mandatory payment checkout process for adult-related purchases (not affecting Patreon yet, from what I can tell). When you buy anything adult-oriented, you're now forced to provide:
Your email
Your IP address
Your phone number
Your home address
Your full name
Personally, I think we're reaching the point of ridiculousness. This isn't about protecting minors anymore-it's about full control. Once they have all this on you, good luck doing anything meaningful for your community if you ever step into politics or activism. They'll have your arm twisted behind your back.
Anything you post can easily get you labeled as a "non-compliant" or "problematic" person, no matter what. This is distorted, fucked-up control.
On the Discord side, there's an ongoing vote in the feedback channel-go drop your thoughts on what we should do. Now that Haven has launched its new chat (which is pretty similar to Discord), the question is: Should we stick with Discord, or migrate over to the Haven chat?
Let me know your take!
