Hey everyone!
So, I'll start by saying that this post is probably not something a dev should write, it's going to be bluntly honest. What I've been doing, what I want to do, and what I'm struggling with. I hate 'corporate' speak, so forgive me for that 😂
2 months since the initial release... feels like longer to me, not sure about everyone else though? (1 month 3 weeks, but whatever, close enough)
Honestly this whole game has been nothing but a huge learning curve. I'd never written, never made art, never interacted with a community, never even posted online publicly before, so your patience with me while I get my feet on the ground and get everything just 'working' has been really appreciated.
We went from having 3 very.... eh... prologues to having a single story that has become way more popular than I ever expected, It's honestly taken me back quite a bit. But it's also left me in a really weird position. I want to make what people want to play, one story has got all the attention, which has left me severely demotivated to work on the others, especially considering that my personal favorite story is also 'Is this NTR?'.
I find myself wishing that I had just made one story from the start, on it's own... But at the same time I love the plan I have for the 4 stories together. I'm sure some of you have figured that part out by now. But the writing of the others are just... lacking?
I think that my skills as a writer have got better, fast. I mean did you play the original 'Is this NTR?'? Compared to the new one? Well 'Distant connections' was made at the same time I wrote the original 'Is this NTR?', so NO WONDER ITS BAD IN COMPARISON.
So do I go back and re-write it like I did Is this NTR?
Do I just leave it and keep writing it?
Do I feed it to Nom-nom?!?!
I DON'T KNOW?!?!?!
I think what I'd LIKE to do, and what I said on the discord, is to focus 100% of my attention on 'Is this NTR?' while I slowly sort the other stories out in the background. I know some people prefer them and really want their continuation, but I would prefer to burn them to the ground and remake them than keep something that's below my standards.
Honestly I just want to get this all out the way early, while the game is still new. The thing I fear the most is getting 12 months in and just never wanting to look at them again, because I hate them. I want to get it right. I want a story that I can write to the end. I have that with 'Is this NTR?', it's planned, start to end. The others? Not so much.
If you want an idea of how much more motivated I am for 'Is this NTR?' the next chapter is already 50% written, a new feature has been added, and I'm already 13 images up... The progress I'm making on it is INSANE compared to the other 🤣 It obviously needs proof reading, photos need editing, needs playtesting, so it's not even close to done, but the ball is rolling as they say.
You know that even though the game released 2 months ago, the current 'Is this NTR' released 4 weeks ago?! It's only been 4 weeks 😭 I swear I've done nothing but gen Sophie and Lilly pics for a month!! Not like anyone is complaining... (I mean, I'm not)
Also decided to kind of go all out with the hidden secrets throughout the game. The 7 hidden images, the secret alignment route, the secret you can find on the date... Slowly filling the game with them. Not sure if people even like them? But I think they are a lot of fun, give you some bonus content to hunt for too! I've got another idea to add even MORE hidden little secrets too 😉
I'm losing track of why I even wrote all this now... Who knows... I used to write these like every other day, just dev rambles 🤣 Idk I think it's good to just be open about what's actually happening. Nothing annoys me more than having to guess at what some mystery person online is thinking, so I'm hoping you all feel the same way. Believe me, if something goes wrong, if something breaks, if there's ever a delay, you'll be getting ALL the details 🥰
But yea, I'm pretty sure that I'm going to be putting 90% of my focus into 'Is this NTR' over the next month while I sort what I want the other stories to be....

One thing I will ask, and I may regret this... Is I need more negative feedback. Yea, I love that you love the game, but what didn't you like? What missed the mark for you? Where could it improve? Just... when you tell me also give me a good thing so I don't get too sad about the negative feedback 🤣

Next update planned for a week from today, next chapter of 'Is this NTR?', and... pretty sure we're finally going to get 'there', if you know what I mean 😏

(Oh, just want to make it clear here, just in case it didn't sound like it. I WILL be writing and completing all 4 stories. None are being abandoned. I have a plan for them that I love too much to leave behind. It's just how I get there that I'm stumbling over right now)
