Behind the Scenes
Hey folks,
Thank you for all the kind words on my last post, it really means a lot. Things have settled down since then and I've been back at it full throttle.
Not sure if you've noticed, but I tend to build my own tools for game production. Ren'Py doesn't really give much to work with, no real IDE, no proper dev environment, so a lot of the stuff I want needs to be made in-house. That has allowed me to do some stuff I really enjoy in a single application, like dynamic audio layering, built-in image generation, audio editing and boosting, etc.
But if you saw the editor I showed off in a sneak peek a few months ago, it was buggy as all hell, genuinely miserable to work with, and I'd lose time fighting it instead of actually making the game. So instead of fighting it, I decided to rebuild it from the ground up.
Unfortunately, as it is with any product, it takes time to build and polish. I've been building it alongside the game, adding in features every time I hit a roadblock. The game is still the priority, but this tool is an investment that'll pay off for every game that comes after it too.
I just wanted to give you some signs of life and let you know I'm still working on the game. Only need to handle the audio for Untapped - Act IV. Coming soon!
Thanks for sticking with me. I know radio silence is the worst thing for trust, and I appreciate you being patient with me.
Much love,
- King Crescente
