Been working this month on big pillars of turn based combat. With everything I learned from Dawn of Corruption, I'm introducing a similar blend of abilities to Hypermancer with 3 prototype enemies.
Just like DoC, I'm adding triggers based on game events that all abilities can use for their mechanics.
Had a ton of fun adding the new parry too. Huge thanks to DieselSaurus for cooking up a really nice SFX for them <3

Massive GPU optimizations overall. I now get stable 60FPS on Steam Deck using Medium settings, no upscaling.
Added new ability system based on Dawn of Corruption
Added 3 new enemies with unique mechanics.
-No visuals yet, I want to secure the gameplay first.
New enemy: Gain Gambler
-Bets on whether you will use a growth move during your turn.
-If he wins the bet, gains a huge growth buff.
-If he loses, he loses all buffs.
New enemy: Rivality
-Grows every time another unit grows.
-Can be triggered by his allies and his enemies.
New enemy: Anatomy Paladin
-Gains a strong damage buff every turn that an enemy has a growth buff.
All new 3 enemies use stronger attacks if the player activates their mechanics enough.
Enemies in turn based combat can now do dialogues.
-Every new enemies use dialogues when their mechanics are triggered.
You can now Parry enemy attacks, negating all damage.
-Added 5 new enemy attacks with different parry timings.
Graphics changes:
Improved cel shaded materials on ship.
Greatly improved shadows performance.
General changes:
Health bars now display character names.
Added UI to show button to go back from skills menu.
Added Parry UI.
Fixed new game intro dialogue being on the bottom of the screen instead of the center.
New game intro dialogue now uses more keys to move to the next lines.
