For those of you unaware, Torch of Freedom is the title that was chosen for the Original Trilogy/Legends sequel story to Crown of Slaves. I think you'll agree it's appropriate on a number of levels.
For those of you not in the Discord, the decision was made that -while the previous poll was overwhelmingly in favor of it- The Clone Wars era being the next story in this universe would be...well, difficult and easy at the same time.Fundamentally, cutting off the Sith at the knees before the Clone Wars is a relatively simple task if you know who to target. Palpatine, Maul, Plagueis. All of whom Vestara knows the identities/locations of, all of whom can be eliminated fairly easily if properly prepared for it.And, quite frankly, the Clone Wars is now an incredibly over-complicated mess because of how much new content has been churned out for them, much of it contradictory.
So, I made an executive decision: the sequal to Crown of Slaves will be Torch of Freedom, taking place during and after the Original Trilogy, mostly ignoring Disney's shit to focus on the EU/Legends, or the better parts of it at least.
That being said, it was also decided that a Clone Wars series of omakes would be a fun thing to do in between Torch chapters, doing specific snapshot scenes I found uniquely enjoyable to contemplate.
Such as Anakin showing up to the Jedi High Council with a passel of Sith and Jedi ghosts who proceed to rake the current Jedi Order over the coals, that sort of thing.
At any rate, I have another decision to lay before you: should Luke Skywalker, MC of Torch of Freedom, be Vestara reborn yet again to put the galaxy back to rights, or the actual Luke Skywalker, but this time the role of Annoyed and Judgmental Kallig Grandparent will be filled by Vestara herself.
I find both options equally enjoyable, so I'm letting you guys decide.
I know some of you will be disappointed by this, but...the Clone Wars are too big, too chaotic, and too much of a pain in the ass to write in, and I'd have to deliberately hamper the characters to let the Clone Wars break out -at least, as they did in canon- to begin with.
