Yes, the little weeper monster concept was very much ripped from Made in Abyss, parroting voices of its dying victims, the whole shebang. Even the name I sort of ripped off, I'm sorry, Tsukushi-sensei.
I mused around the concept a little and decided that a subversion adds even more story. If everyone thinks that the beast is only faking it, it'd be funny if it's actually for real.
The next chapter is going to show the beast's origins, look forward to it!
