I hope you're all enjoying yourseles this evening. I know it's a few hours early but I figured becuase of what happened today, I'd just post what I did have anyway. If you're asking "what happened?", Procreate has this big button called "Gallery", and touching it instantly closes and saves your project file. So if you were, say, cropping something to save a WIP file, and you accidentally hit that big Gallery button (which is right where the "File" tab is in any other art program I've used) (It is also milimeters next to the button you need to press in order to save, export, or share files with people as well!), well now your file is permanently cropped and everything that was outside of the new canvas size is lost forever. There's no warning screen, no back-up files, it's just gone forever. So I lost a bunch of drawings I had been working on because of that. And don't worry, Procreate has made it abundantly clear via it's website that it is well aware of this problem for at least 8 years now, but they have no intention of changing or fixing it. It's designed to be this way. So it's MY fault that 25 years of muscle memory for saving copies now results in automatic, catastrophic blunders, all because Procreate wanted to be special. They won't even consider making it an option you can turn on or off, to bring up a "Are you sure? Y/N" menu to avoid accidents like this, even though dozens and dozens of other Procreate users have done the exact same thing I have. So the only work around for now is to constantly manually save back-up files of projects to iCloud while I work, and to hope I don't forget to do that. Anyway, here is what I do have. I am so sorry for what happened and I'm absolutely devestated by it. I'll try to re-create what I made that I was proud of for next week. And yes, ultimately it was my fault for not saving back up files manually. It's nobody's fault but mine. But I reserve the right to be salty.I hope you enjoy! More will come next week so stay tuned!
