Paid patrons will get early access to purchase grOw/cinema 1, Ep. XXIX (29) tomorrow (Wed., June 3, 2026)!
It's been about 8 months since the last issue was released! Wow. I only just realized it was this long as I was preparing for the newest issue's release. Why has it taken so long?
My original plans were:• Episode 28 : October 24 release to Patreon members• "Vanilla" Animation: work on it from October 31 to November 28, release by the middle or end of December.• Episode 29: start work on it at the end of December, releasing it around end of March, early April.
But, "the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry."
First, the "Vanilla" Animated movie took much longer than expected. But that was also due to the fact that I added so much more than I originally thought to put into it, and it was a massive undertaking. The previous longest movie was about 5 minutes. "Vanilla" was just under 11 minutes.
Towards the end of December, my mom passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. This, combined with the holiday timing, set things back at least 2 weeks.
Production on "Vanilla" finally wrapped up and the movie was released to the general public on February 9th. (About 6 weeks later than I had hoped. Ouch.)
Then, production on Episode XXIX took much longer than expected as well. This was due to many reasons:• The episode is FULL of highly-detailed panels, with many, many characters in each one with a lot of added liquid effects.• I was also trying to expand my reach by greatly increasing my DeviantArt Subscriptions to bring them to the level and complexity of my Patreon offerings. It was a rollercoaster of so much more added work (creating double the amount of posts; creating new workflows to make things go quicker; creating LOTS of "marketing" materials to advertise my new subscriptions, etc. etc.). The results? Meh. We'll see if things get better in coming months.• Throw in Tax Season for good measure.• Throw in a few personal life issues, milestones, and celebrations (redacted for privacy).
The next thing I know, it's the beginning of June. Whoa, what happened?!
Thank you for hanging in there and supporting me!
Even with all the added push to get my work out there, it's been a continuous struggle against the glut of other creators and the crushing weight of A.I. (which has negatively affected my "real life" work as well!)
Thank you for purchasing grOw/cinema! If you feel so inclined, you may add a "tip" in-cart when you make your purchase, or forgo using your coupon code. This will help me replenish lost revenue due to these huge delays. Thank you!
Your continued $upport of my BustArtist Universe is MUCH APPRECIATED!
And for reading all the way down to here, here is an early preview as a token of my appreciation!
