[Info] Have a problem with one of my mods? Need help?

DESCRIPTION

---- > Here's what to do:

- A. Installation Shenanigans aka "Mods aren't showing up!"

If mods aren't showing up at all in game, you have an installation issue. Check the 🔗 tutorial here. I can't provide any further help for installation related problems.

 - B. The rest of possible problems

If you are experiencing ANY ISSUE you think relates to my mods, with or without a LastException error:

Step 1. RUN A MOD HOUND SCAN

🔗 HERE

This will tell you:

if your copies of my mods are outdated

if you're missing requirements

if you have duplicates

if your script files are too deep in folders

These three problems are behind a LARGE amount of users' issues. Doing the automatic scan will help you solve your problem often enough.

If Mod Hound did not find problems, Move to the next step. Otherwise, fix the problems it found, then try your game again.

Step 2 & 3. DIAGNOSING OTHER ISSUES VIA TESTING AND / OR ERROR REPORTS

2. If you got a Last Exception error report from MCCC or Better Exceptions in game:

Share the Html report file ITSELF with 🔗 support. Not a screenshot, not a copy-pasted snippet of text from the file. To diagnose and inform you on your issue, we need the entire file.

If you don't use BE or MCCC, you can send the EA LastException text file, along with a file log done with either RPO or Sim Info Manager.

3. If the problem is recurrent / predictable: Test if the specific mod you suspect is in fact related to the problem.Contrary to popular belief, there is only ONE way to do this properly, and '50/50' is NOT it. The correct way is: take out all other mods (all mods EXCEPT the one you suspect to cause the problem + MCCC or BE if you have them and are sure they're up to date. Leave NOTHING ELSE, not even CC), then try again in game to check if the problem still occurs.

If the problem still occurs:

CHECK the mod's info page to make sure you didn't miss important instructions, which might cause the problem

If not, then REPORT the info on the problem to support, and the fact that you did this test. Reports are best done on the  🔗 support discord.

If the problem has stopped:

another mod is the cause of your problem, or a mod conflict.

_______

Posting this due to the 'even larger than usual' amount of user-error-related reports of lately :) You will Save yourself time and effort - and maximize the time I have available to work on creating new features for you VS the time spent on support - by following the recommendations listed in this post.
