Susan Lorincz had a reputation in her neighborhood for regularly targeting local children with aggressive behavior—shouting at them and, at times, hurling objects in their direction. Her conduct drew repeated complaints, making her a familiar figure to law enforcement due to the frequent reports she made about others in the area. When the children informed their mother, Ajike "A.J." Owens, about Lorincz’s latest actions, Owens approached Lorincz’s residence to address the situation. What followed was a fatal encounter: after a tense exchange, Lorincz fired a shot through the closed door, ending in tragedy.
