So, it's been a while.
At the end of last year my plan was to return January 30th with the results of the last poll, a new pic, and continue from there with new commissions, polls, and new original pieces. Needless to say that didn't happen.
Immediately after New Years I was diagnosed with pneumonia and spent the first weeks of the year recovering and writing when I could. This set me back, but I was on track to be back to you guys for February. Then, driving home from work I was involved in an accident.
I'm not comfortable going into too much detail about the specifics, but suffice to say it was neither my, nor the other driver's, fault. Both myself and another person in the other vehicle were injured, thankfully not life-threateningly. My dominant hand was caught between the steering wheel and the material of the car door which was struck, breaking bones and damaging tendons, which required surgery and a lot of physical therapy for me to be at the point I am currently.
This is partly why there has been no updates and I haven't been responding to emails or messages, but to be completely honest my mental health also took a hit during this time. I often struggle with deadlines, and if I miss one I have a bad habit of spiralling, trying to rush and complete the task or project so that I can present the results along with my apologies and explanation for the delay. Ordinarily this is at least a manageable bad habit, but obviously when recovering from an injury, rushing and putting pressure on yourself only makes things worse.
In short, I spent the past months alternating between stressing about not posting and not wanting to reply empty-handed, and hampering my own recovery by trying to work faster than my body has been ready for.
At this point, however, I am officially recovered. I am back to writing at more or less my prior speed, and both my physical and mental health are back to a good place.
First order of business is to complete outstanding commissions, but once that has been done we will be back to the normal schedule. The result of December's What If? poll will be going up on HF due to NSFP content today, whilst new pics and a new monthly poll are posted here.
Upcoming is Victoria Neuman and Thea Queen's poll stories, the next chapter of Unity, and a story featuring Sylvanas from WOW enjoying some Gnollish company.
