TL;DR:
New chapters will be released for the next four weeks.
Book 13 release date should be early October. Pre-orders will go up when the date is confirmed.
I will be on tour across the USA and Canada in July and August (dates in the image).
Chapters will NOT be released while I am on tour.
Patreon charges WILL be paused once again while I am not releasing chapters.
I am planning to take the remainder of August off as I wind down from a fairly hectic tour schedule on the far side of the planet.
The plan is to resume releases in September until late in the year when I will likely be back in the US touring. There may be a short (1 week) break to attend PAX Australia in October.
G'day all,
I did warn that this would be a very interrupted year, and we're right in it now. The next chapter will go up a little under nine hours after this post going live, and chapters will resume for the next four weeks. After that, I will be seeing a lot of airports and signing an outrageous number of books.
I will probably have a different hat than the one in the picture. My summer hat is white.
The much belated book 13 will be released in ebook and audio in early October, I am assured, with pre-orders going up once the final date is nailed down.
Through July and August, I will be making appearances at book events and conventions across the US and a little bit in Canada. I will get specific event details out as I can, but I can point out the conventions right now:
Denver July 10-12: LitRPG Con. After almost dying to the Doom Lurgy I could only appear last year remotely. I am looking forward to finally getting to be there in person, and I'm expecting this to be my favourite part of the trip, as it's the best chance all year to catch up with my fellow LitRPG authors. Other than the Australian ones, who I keep bringing to my house for board games and barbecues. A personal highlight of LitRPG Con will be Heath Miller doing a live reading of the exclusive side story from the book 1 hardcover.
San Diego July 23-26: Comic Con. I'm only doing a couple of panels here, as LitRPG is obvious a pretty small slice of the pop culture pie, although Dungeon Crawler Carl is certainly changing that.
Indianapolis July 30 - August 02: Gen Con. Honestly, this one is more a chance for me to wind down and play some board games at the end of the tour's US leg, but I'm hoping I might be able to do something a little special there. More details to come as things get nailed down. If you're there and see me, say hello and maybe we can play a game or two!
Special Note: My book event on July 27th is in Phoenix, not Phoeniz. I don't know if there's a town in Arizona called Phoeniz, and if there is, I apologise for any confusion. Hopefully I'll get corrected graphics soon.
Chapters will not be released while I'm on tour, or for a little bit after I get back, due to what I suspect will be extreme exhaustion and possibly RSI from signing books. The Patreon billing will be paused, and they seem to have gotten most of the technical glitches sorted out (fingers crossed).
Starting in September, I intend to get a lot more writing done. My best guess is that the final chapters of book 14 will hit Patreon early in 2027, the first half certainly.
My plans for later in the year are not as tightly nailed down yet, although I do intend to be on a panel at PAX Australia again this year. There will probably be another book tour around late Nov/early December, near the time of the Dragonsteel Nexus convention, which Haylock told me was a lot of fun.
One of the good things about all these interruptions is that it will be a chance to meet so many fans. I don't get many chances to do that, living on an island off the bottom end of Australia, so I'm really looking forward to it.
