Just a quick note: this will be the last preview before we release Technical #13 for early access, probably tomorrow night. We'll then get the bookends for AOTC Part 5 edited, assemble it and release that. Very exciting stuff.
We made it to the studio late last week, and we got Narrative #19 recorded, "Visiting Watto". That's about 18 minutes long. We also got the first half of Narrative #20 recorded, "Delta-7 vs. Slave 1". That clocked in at around 20 minutes. DZ got the bookends finished for AOTC Part 5, and we did a session at the studio yesterday afternoon to get those recorded. We decided it'd be wise to finish recording the last half of Narrative #20. The sum of both recording sessions brings us to 41 minutes on that part.
I'm putting the final touches on Technical #13 today. Only a few minutes to go. All that's left is to finish that last 7 minutes of the Void-7 Minelayer segment. Then I've got a couple of days on editing and assembling the final parts for the release of AOTC Part 5. We'll try to provide early access to Part 5 for backers, but no promises! We'd like to get it out by May 4th - copyright shenanigans willing. Today, I spent half the afternoon on a single 30 second section of Technical #13 - the preview attached to this update. Aligning each frame of both explosions. We were both impressed with how consistent the visual effects are.
DZ has been working on Technical #17, farm equipment. He's at about 30 minutes on that script: "I've removed 3PO from the docket, and after finishing the bike, I have vaporators left to examine. Mostly interested in the logistics there, the day-to-day tasks of farming. Could they be plumbed in to a central tank? Do they have to be emptied once a day, or week? Do you need to lock them to prevent theft?" —DZ
We'll probably take a break next week if we can. That's dependant on how well finishing up AOTC Part 5 goes over the next couple of days. My neck needs some rest, if it's ever going to heal right. See you next update!
