Hi everybody.
Happy Friday! I hope you're feeling well and are looking forward to a restful weekend.
Last week, Chestnut spent a couple of days testing the game, going through everything, taking note of the changes, and making lists. I'm glad to say that she liked this version of the story, and although there are still a few things that need more work, the overall update, according to her, is enjoyable. I was watching her during the several hours of her playthrough and frequently saw her smiling at jokes or the situational comedy (although she had seen them before), which means you will probably also find at least some of the content entertaining.
There are, as I said, some more fixes that need to be done, such as:
Redoing one of the pre-sex events (it doesn't match the angle of the sex scene).
Removing and changing several parts of the second half of the story to lighten the tone. Right now, it gets too dark story-wise, and Chestnut said it didn't match the feel of the rest of the story (or the game, for that matter).
She experienced three crashes.
There are also a bunch of missing image attributes or posing issues.
Because of multiple rounds of improvement, some of the dialogues don't match. For example, in an earlier version, a character said they didn't like something, but later they did. That needs to be sorted out.
We need more audio and sound effects (plus some audio-related bugs, such as sounds lingering when they should have stopped, etc.).
There were two or three jokes that should be removed.
The placement of two of the achievements needs to be changed.
One of the sex talks was apparently too bad (I wrote it a while back and haven't revisited it).
Other minor issues.
Yesterday, I added repeatable cutscenes to the crystal ball, and today I have been playing the game again from the beginning, retesting everything in light of Chestnut's feedback.
Our plan from now until the release is this: I'm going to fix the above issues (and others we find), add more audio files, add more optional convos, and add art to the game. Chestnut is going to keep polishing and finishing new art (she has new ones added to her list). Once everything is ready, or we see we're close, we'll announce a release window and send the game out to external testers.
The 0.8 will be very different from our previous releases. It has two distinct halves, each with its own mood, both focused on Holly and her story. There's plenty of sex and craziness, though, and hopefully you will enjoy it once it's ready. Honestly, I can't wait!
Have a wonderful weekend.Cheers!
