Weekly report 323

Hi everybody.

Happy Friday! I hope you're all feeling well and had a great week. Here's a summary of our work since the last report:

Chestnut's main focus last week was sprites. She edited earlier hands and skins, and created new ones. She still has some work to do and did run into some computer issues, but the redo/fix/additions is progressing at a steady pace. To see an example of the hands she'll be drawing, visit the spoiler post I published earlier today related to Celestina's remade bit of content and her sexual scene with the MC.

I finished writing optional convos. We have plenty of them this release, though most are short. There are lines with Serena, Sev, Rose, Myrtle, Kevin, Waldo, Maple, Junior, Mei, Gomira, and of course, Holly, Abe, and Celestina. It was fun revisiting some of the original characters, such as Serena, and writing new dialogue for them (you will only see the option for that convo if you have entered the Old Capital, but not yet rescued Madeline).

Additionally, I finished alternative dialogue lines for stories that are impacted by the events of 0.8. Two substories, to be specific: Gomira's and Rose's. Adding alternative dialogue Rose's update was relatively straightforward because you cannot play it alongside Holly's (Celestina is too heavily involved in both), so whichever you play first, you'll need to complete before you can start or continue the other. Doing the same for Gomira's update, though, was a lot more complicated. I had already written lines for Myrtle and posed some of them to replace Holly's drinking section in the inn, but I ended up scrapping that since Myrtle too may be busy with her personal quest with the wolf. So now, if you've reached the point in Holly's quest where she cannot go to the tavern for a mug of ale, you'll meet Junior instead. I think it's fun and works well as a brief encounter. I also did some testing and bug-fixing.

My plan for next week is to fix most, if not all, bugs in the update. Chestnut plans to continue drawing new sprite additions and polishing existing ones.
