Hello from Australia! I'm currently spending the holidays visiting my family for the first time in a long time. Long enough for everything here to feel like it's from another lifetime...
(I don't usually lock these posts behind a pay-wall, but this one has a personal update from me to our patrons at the bottom – sorry!)
We have an exciting variety of maps and tokens to share this month, to wrap up 2025. Let me introduce them:
Connor Johnston is opening up a brand-new setting for 2MT with the Egyptian Entryway, with more to come in the same vein! I'm enamored with the architecture and brand-new riverside plants.
Kelly-Louise Roake completes her two-part project with the Modern Home Pt.2. This one shares all the same map variants, giving you a number of complete, multi-level modern homes for your map repertoire!
Alex (LexusPrimus) makes their official debut with his Witch's Herbgarden! This forest-framed homestead features a twisting garden and a witch-home interior. This will be a fun one for your heroes to explore – I only hope they can find their way back out!
Davy and Fairbanks' New Tokens feature many a tabaxi and dinosaur-folk, as well as tokens custom-made for our newly released maps and articles!
I'm continually impressed by our small team and the variety they bring to our map library. Right now, 2MT literally couldn't survive without them, too! Thank you team, and thank YOU for making it possible with your patronage.
To those of you who miss my (Ross') line art – I hear you! I keep combing through my schedule, looking for space to draw, but come up with nothing apart from sacrificing my already-limited sleep. I've tried to joke about it in my previous monthly updates, but in light of recent comments I want to be a bit more transparent. I try very hard not to air out my laundry online but, if anyone, our patrons deserve some explanation!
It all comes down to being new parents to a very demanding 11 month-old and having very limited help. She requires both parents to change her, feed her, and put her to sleep, and for various reasons I also volunteer to watch and entertain her for much of the day. Between this and feeding ourselves and maintaining friendships, I have about enough time to direct our team, answer emails, and publish our art each month.
I suspect things will get easier as she gets older, but that day is yet to appear on the horizon. I adore her, but I often despair about neglecting 2MT, especially when I receive messages from patrons threatening me with unsubscribing if I can't personally produce a map. That really promotes this all from "unfulfilled passion" to "chronic people-pleaser anxiety."
I don't regret giving all this time to my daughter, but it does truly hurt at the same time. All I can do is apologize to any of you who are disappointed as, going into 2026, I don't want to promise anything apart from more kickass maps from the team. Please adjust your expectations accordingly! I will continue to try and move things around and find the time to draw again. I will be back as soon as I can.
Happy Holidays,– Ross
